CPT Mitch Reid is an instructor in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy (USMA).

The Bartlett, Illinois, native graduated from North Central College with a Bachelor of Science in exercise science and commissioned as a field artillery officer in 2017. After completing the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served as fire direction officer, platoon leader, executive officer and brigade liaison officer with the 3rd Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, 18th Field Artillery Brigade (HIMARS).

Following the Field Artillery Captains Career Course, CPT Reid served as squadron fire support officer with the 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment (War), 3rd Brigade (Rakkasans), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), then as battery commander for Alpha Battery (Gators), 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery (Red Knight Rakkasans) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. While serving as battery commander, he deployed in support of Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce.

Before arriving at USMA, CPT Reid graduated from Indiana University with a Master of Science in kinesiology. He and his wife, Kaitlyn, have two children.
