CPT Joseph Carson was commissioned as an Armor Officer through ROTC at Saint Bonaventure University in 2013. He began his military career with 1-89 CAV, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, where he held various roles including Platoon Leader, Assistant S3, Assistant S4, and Troop Executive Officer. During this time, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. After completing the Captains Career Course, CPT Carson joined the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart. There, he served as the Assistant S3 Plans Officer for 6-8 CAV and later commanded Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment. His military education includes ABOLC, Air Assault, Airborne, Ranger School, Maneuver Captain's Career Course, Cavalry Leader’s Course, and Tank Commander's Course. CPT Carson holds a Master of Arts in Higher and Post-Secondary Education from Columbia University. He married his wife, Jessica, in 2015, and they have two children together.
