The Army West Point Flyfishing club was victorious over Navy once again, earning its fifth straight victory over the Midshipmen Nov. 4 at the south branch of the Raritan River at Raritan Inn in New Jersey.
Four cadets and four midshipmen competed at the flyfishing event. The Army team consisted of Brady Foisy, Jack Hager, Drake Ott and Colton Snodgrass. Morning fishing determined which two anglers from each team would fish in the afternoon final. Hager and Snodgrass advanced and then proceeded to crush Navy in the final with 88 inches of trout caught to 13 inches caught by Navy.
Bill Asdal, owner of the Raritan Inn, organized the fall event for the third year in a row. Former Superintendent, retired Lt. Gen. Robert Caslen, was a judge for the event. Army Flyfishing has now won all five Army-Navy events (Fall '21, Spring '22, Fall '22, Spring '22 and Fall '23).
The club is thankful to Directorate of Cadet Activities and supporters who allow the club to be able to participate and compete in these events. Go Army Flyfishing: Hook, Line, and Sink Navy!
