Dr. Kubiak is the Supervisory Chemist in the Department of Chemistry and Life Sciences where he manages various laboratories and equipment in support of the educational and research initiatives in the chemistry program. Dr. Kubiak served as a medic in the US Army from 2006-2010 with an operational deployment to Afghanistan. After his enlistment, Robert began his pursuit of higher education at D’Youville University in Buffalo, NY culminating in B.S. degrees in both chemistry and biology. He then attended Emory University under a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship to pursue a PhD in chemistry focused on small molecule synthesis. Prior to joining the team in the Chemistry and Life Science Department, Robert worked as a research assistant professor in Tuskegee University’s Department of Defense Aerospace Engineering, Research, and Innovation Center of Excellence where he was responsible for overseeing the acquisition, installation, and implementation of a wide array of instrumentation to support research on the fabrication and characterization of various composite materials of interest to the Department of Defense.
