A native of Tucson, AZ, CPT Filbert commissioned through the United States Military Academy as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry in 2015. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Art, Philosophy, and Literature and a Masters of Arts in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. CPT Filbert’s assignments include being a Mechanized Platoon Leader and Armor Company Executive Officer in 1-64 AR, 1ABCT, 3ID. He then served in the 75th Ranger Regiment Headquarters as an AS1 and Special Projects Officer, deploying twice to Afghanistan. CPT Filbert’s tenure in the 173D IBCT(A) includes time as the 2-503D Assistant Operations Officer, the Commander of Able Company, 2-503D, and the Commander of the Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 173D IBCT(A). CPT Filbert is a Ranger-qualified Jumpmaster.
