
CPT Seth Maxfield is a native of Minnesota and a 2014 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy. Commissioned as an Armor officer, he completed the Armor Basic Officer Leaders Course, served as a Battalion Medical Platoon Leader, Tank Platoon Leader, and Tank Company Executive Officer with 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment at Fort Riley, KS, and deployed to the Republic of Korea.
After completing the Maneuver Captain's Career Course, he served as a Division Current Operations Officer with the 2nd Infantry Division (RoK-US Combined Division) at Camp Humphreys, Korea and as Squadron Maintenance Officer with 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment at Fort Stewart, GA. While deployed to the Republic of Korea, CPT Maxfield assumed command of Darkhorse (Tank) Troop, 5th Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment and commanded in Korea and at Fort Stewart before deploying to Camp Aachen, Germany in support of worldwide contingency operations in March 2022.
Upon completion of Combined Resolve 17 at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, CPT Maxfield attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his Master of Arts degree in German in May 2024. CPT Maxfield's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Air Assault Badge, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in Gold.
