Sharon House is the Human Research Protections Coordinator and an Exempt Determination Official. In this role, she performs regulatory review of research proposals, provides guidance to investigators and makes determinations of exemption. She also plays an active role in building, updating and troubleshooting Cayuse, the online system used for research submissions. 

Ms. House holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from LaSalle University and a master’s degree in clinical research organization and management from Drexel University College of Medicine Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies. Prior to joining the HRPP at USMA, Ms. House spent 18 years as the director of Human Research Protections at Reading Hospital in Pennsylvania. She spent her early nursing career as an oncology nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where her interest in research was sparked. 

Ms. House grew up in New Jersey in a close-knit family. She enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends and rooting for ARMY no matter the sport.
