Steve grew up in Kansas and joined the Department of History faculty in 1993. He soon met Sharon, an Army officer, and added Army spouse to his list of titles. He has had a lifelong interest in military history and was introduced to wargaming at a young age by his Uncle who flew helicopters in Vietnam. He has shared that interest with cadets as the officer-in-charge of the Cadet Wargames Club for thirty years.
