MAJ William Choate grew up on a small farm in Ohio and graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Portuguese. He was commissioned as an Armor officer and served at Fort Stewart, Georgia, as a Scout Platoon Leader, and then in Europe as the Adjutant to the Brigade Commander of 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. In 2017, MAJ Choate became a Civil Affairs officer and deployed to Colombia in 2019 as a Team Leader.
MAJ Choate earned a Master of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies from Florida International University in 2022 and now serves as an instructor of Portuguese at USMA.
