MAJ Curtis is from Cary, North Carolina. He enlisted and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC followed by commissioning as an Engineer Officer in 2012 from Appalachian State University. His previous assignments include Company TAC Officer for company F1 at the United States Military Academy; Company Commander of 58th CEC, 1st SQDN, Detachment Commander of HHD, RSS, and Regimental CUOPs OIC in 11th ACR FICA; Battalion S4 OIC in 41st BEB, 2nd BCT, and Company XO and Platoon Leader in B Co, 7th BEB, 1st BCT, 10th MTN DIV (FDNY). MAJ Curtis is a graduate of the Engineer Basic Officer Leadership Course, Sapper Leader Course, Engineer Captains Career Course, and Cavalry Leader Course. MAJ Curtis holds a Masters in Social-Organizational Psychology from Columbia University and a Bachelors in Sociology from Appalachian State University. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (5OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Medal. Additionally, MAJ Curtis has been awarded the Sapper Tab. Zachary has two sons, Grayson & Evan.
