All majors complete a senior thesis or equivalent project, often sponsored by external partners who provide real-world problems, technical mentorship, and insight into how applied mathematics drives innovation across industry, government, and the Army.Research topics include mathematical modeling, optimization, statistics, data science, AI/ML, NLP, computer vision, and engineering math. Many cadets begin research early through independent study, accelerating their development as technical professionals and junior Army leaders, and often preparing them to compete for national and international scholarships.
