Alexander Master is a Research Scientist at the Army Cyber Institute and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy. He earned a BS in Computer & Information Technology from Purdue University, a Master of Engineering degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland (College Park), and a PhD in Information Security from Purdue University. Alex has served in the U.S. Army as a Fire Support Officer, Operations Officer, CND Manager on a National Cyber Protection Team, Company Commander, and Cyber Planner supporting cyberspace operations. Alex was deployed during Operation Resolute Support as part of the conflict in Afghanistan. He is a graduate of the Field Artillery Basic Officer Course, Cyber Operations Officer Course, Cyber Captains Career Course, Air Assault School, Joint Fires Observer course, Joint Firepower course, and Joint Targeting course. He has also earned 10+ cybersecurity industry certifications. His research interests include digital privacy, cybersecurity, computer networking, and Internet censorship.
