Jean Bartik Computing Symposium Clubs and Programs Cadets have opportunities to join cadet-run clubs. For those who qualify, honor societies are available to join. Raftery, Jr. Professor & Department Head COL Jim Raftery is the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy and is a Professor of Electrical Engineering. He earned a Master of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1996 and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005. He is a 2011 graduate of the Army War College and served in the Cyber National Mission Force at Ft. Meade, MD from 2015-2016. His research interests include semiconductor lasers, as well as topics in power, energy, and cyber. Read more about COL James J.
