Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Andrea Kaman is originally from Wakonda, South Dakota. She commissioned as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Wyoming into the United States Army in 2007 and completed the Adjutant General Basic Officer Leadership Course at Fort Jackson, SC in 2008. Prior to West Point, she held numerous leadership and staff positions, most recently as the Human Resources Officer in Charge (S1 OIC) for the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, CO. Previous assignments include serving as the Congressional Defense Fellow in the office of Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur (OH-9), followed by an assignment as a Legislative Liaison for the Army in the US House of Representatives. Prior to the Fellowship, LTC Kaman was Company Commander of Charlie Company, 369th Adjutant General Battalion, Fort Jackson, SC and an AG BOLC Instructor, Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, SC. Her first assignments were with the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) in Ansbach, Germany. LTC Kaman served a combat tour in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Andrea’s civilian education includes a B.S. degree in Marketing from the University of Wyoming (2007), a Master of Professional Studies degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University (2016) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Columbia Business School at Columbia University (2023). Andrea’s military education includes the Command and General staff College, the Adjutant General Captains Career Course, and the Adjutant General Officer Basic Course. Major Kaman’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, the Army staff Identification Badge, and the Parachutist Badge. Andrea is married to Drew Kaman of Lusk, Wyoming, and they have two children
