MAJ Andrew Prairie was born and raised in Balaton, MN. He graduated from high school in Tracy, MN, in 2008. He enlisted in the Minnesota National Guard in 2010 and attended basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. Upon graduation of Basic Training, he attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Huachuca, AZ, earning the MOS of Intelligence Analyst (35F). 

In 2010, he started ROTC at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs and graduated with honors and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in May 2013. He then attended and graduated Basic Infantry Officer Leaders Course (IBOLC) at Fort Benning, GA. In 2017, he attended and graduated from the Psychological Operations Qualification Course (POQC) and Special Operations Language Training.

MAJ Prairie's assignments include Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Battalion Logistics Officer for 2-23 IN in Fort Carson, CO. After graduation from the POQC, MAJ Prairie served as a Detachment Commander in Aco, 8th POB (A) and conducted an operational deployment to Jordan. After returning from Jordan, MAJ Prairie was selected to serve as the HHC, 4th PSYOP Group, Company Commander. 

Following Company Command, MAJ Prairie attended graduate school at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and graduated with a master’s in business administration. 

MAJ Prairie currently serves as an instructor in PL300. MAJ Andrew Prairie is married to Corrina Prairie; they have two daughters, Sloane (5) and Piper (2).
