Arthur H. Chu is a visiting instructor from MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where he has been an associate staff member since 2020. He has contributed to various R&D programs sponsored by the DoD, FAA, and NOAA. His work focuses on developing, analyzing, and testing airspace surveillance and decision-support systems. His other professional interests include aviation safety, data visualization, and engineering education. Mr. Chu holds a B.S. from National Taiwan University and an M.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, specializing in software-defined radio and GPS signal processing. Before his appointment at Lincoln Laboratory, he had interned at the Air Force Research Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio, and served for one year in the Taiwanese Police. He was also an adjunct faculty member of North Shore Community College in Danvers, Mass., during AY 2023. He is an FAA-certified commercial pilot and flight instructor.
