Command Sgt. Maj. Jack H. Love enlisted in the United States Army in January 1989. He received his Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. During his 29 years of service, Love has held numerous leadership positions ranging from team leader to division command sergeant major; he has most recently served as the senior enlisted leader of Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan.

Love’s combat deployments include: five combat tours in Iraq, and two combat tours in Afghanistan.
 
Love has completed the Basic Airborne School, Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Drill Sergeant School, Air-Assault School, Master Fitness School, Air-Movement Operations School, the First Sergeant Course, the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 59), the Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeants Major Course, Army Force Management course, Nominative Leaders Course and the Keystone course. Love is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, a recipient of the Order of Saint Maurice and a distinguished member of the 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment.
