Major Curtis Garner is a native of Catasauqua, PA. He received his commission from the United States Military Academy in 2014, earning his Bachelor of Science in Management. While a cadet he competed on the Army Wrestling Team and was a member of the management honor society Omicron Delta Kappa. From 2015-2017, Curtis was assigned to 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment (Iron Knights) in 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, where he served as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Mortar Platoon Leader. Curtis deployed in 2015 to Camp Buehring, Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield and in 2017 to the European Command Area of Responsibility in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. From 2017-2019 Curtis was assigned to the Regimental Special Troops Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, where he served as a Ranger Company Operations Officer, Special Operations Task Force Chief of Operations, and Ranger Company Executive Officer. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2018 in support of Operation Resolute Support. From 2019-2021 Curtis served in 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Rakkasans), 101st Airborne Division as a Liaison officer and as the commander of C Troop, 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment. Curtis graduated from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2023 with a Master of Business Administration in finance. Major Garner’s military education includes the Cavalry Leaders Course, the US Army Jumpmaster Course, the Special Operations Combatives Program (I), the Regimental Assessment and Selection Program (II), the Maneuver Captains Career Course, the US Army Airborne School, the US Army Ranger School, the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Stryker Leader Course, and the Sabalauski Air Assault School. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal with “C” device and bronze oak leaf, the Army Commendation Medal with two bronze oak leaves, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terror Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the NATO Medal, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Air Assault Badge, and Airborne Badge.
