Mr. Abhilash Mathew supervises the chemical engineering lab in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in chemical engineering from Stony Brook University, where his research focused on the simulation of Brownian particles, diesel fuel purification using sonolysis, and development of next-generation resin for solvent dye sublimation manufacturing.
Before joining West Point, Mathew worked in industry in quality analysis and control for more than fifty ink products, contributing to product manufacturing and development. He also participated in introducing 3D printing ink, conducting market analysis, and supporting industrial-scale prototyping, in addition to working on search engine optimization and e-commerce integration for the company.
At West Point, Mathew initially served as a government contractor and assistant program manager overseeing a contract of fourteen employees. He is currently Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certified and serves as the property book officer for the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering, managing $5 million in scientific equipment. He also oversees labs for all chemical engineering "firsties".
