MAJ Andrew DeFabio is an instructor in the American History division in the Department of History & War Studies at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York.
The Stockton, California, native earned a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering from USMA. He also earned a master's degree in international relations from the University of Oklahoma and a master's in history from San Jose State University.
DeFabio is a career Air Defense Artillery officer, and his first assignment was at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea. While there, he served as a platoon leader, company executive officer, and Brigade Air Defense Artillery fire control officer.
After attending Air Defense Captains Career Course, DeFabio was forward stationed in Baumholder, Germany, with 5-7 ADA Battalion. While there, he served as the assistant S3 and commanded C/5-7 ADA. While in command, he participated in multinational and NATO exercises focused on interoperability and deployment readiness. His most recent assignment was current operations officer at 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command in Kaiserslautern, Germany.
