CPT Araceli Sandoval is an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at the United States Military Academy (USMA).

She commissioned as an armor officer from USMA in 2017. From 2018-20, she was assigned to 1st Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, Texas, where she served as a tank platoon leader and deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Following deployment, Araceli served as the battalion scout platoon leader and the battalion S4.

Upon completing the Psychological Operations (PSYOP) Assessment and Selection (POAS), from 2021-2024 Araceli served as a detachment commander in 7th Psychological Operations Battalion, 4th Psychological Operations Group, 1st Special Forces Command and deployed as the Military Information Support Officer (MISO) for Special Operations Task Force-North and West Africa (SOTF-NWA).

After detachment command, in 2024 she attended the Wharton School and the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, where she received her master’s in business administration and international studies.

Araceli is a native of El Paso, Texas. Her favorite pastimes include surfing, snowboarding and watching Quentin Tarantino movies.
