CPT Austin Semmel

CPT Austin Dennis Semmel is an instructor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA).

He was commissioned from USMA in 2015 as a finance officer and now serves as an operations research and systems analyst. He holds a master’s degree in statistics (2019) and a master’s degree in operations research (2024), both from North Carolina State University.

His hobbies include trail running, playing the guitar and ukulele, and he became a certified sommelier in 2023. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in operations research from North Carolina State University.
