CPT Brian Harvey

CPT Brian Harvey is an instructor in boxing and Army fitness development within the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy (USMA). He is a native of New Palestine, Indiana. He attended USMA, where he earned a degree in economics and was commissioned as a field artillery (FA) officer in 2016. Prior to attending the Basic Officer Leader Course (BOLC), his first assignment was as an athletic intern with the USMA wrestling team.

Upon completion of BOLC, CPT Harvey served as a fire support officer, platoon leader and battery executive officer in the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. During his tenure, he led soldiers through multiple exercises and training rotations across Europe. In 2020, CPT Harvey transitioned from the FA branch to the Psychological Operations (PSYOP) branch. At Fort Bragg, North Carolina, he served as a detachment commander in the 8th Psychological Operations Battalion. He led his detachment through two deployments to the Middle East.

Following his assignment at Fort Bragg, CPT Harvey earned a master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Alabama. He is married to Katie, and they have two children.
