CPT Caitlin LaNeve is an instructor in the Department of Geography and Earth Sciences at the United States Military Academy. She is a space operations officer (FA40) with a background as an engineer officer. 

Caitlin deployed to Iraq as a task force engineer within the 25th Infantry Division in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, with duties as force protection officer and construction engineer.  Her most recent assignment was as the deputy space control planner for the 1st Multi Domain Task Force, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. 

She has previously served as the officer in charge of the 517th Geospatial Planning Cell, SETAF-AF, Vicenza, Italy.

CPT LaNeve’s graduate research focused on detection of hazardous materials within natural disaster scenes as well as the impact that geomagnetic storms has on critical infrastructure systems. She holds a master’s degree in geoinformatics and geospatial intelligence and a graduate certificate in remote sensing and image processing from George Mason University.
