MAJ Christian Carrasco

Major Christian Carrasco is from Lake Orion, Michigan, and began his military service in 2010 while attending the United States Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. Upon graduation from USMAPS, he attended the United States Military Academy and graduated with the Class of 2015, earning his commission as an Armor Officer.
MAJ Carrasco’s assignments include service with 3d Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, Texas, where he served as a Scout Platoon Leader, Mobile Gun System Platoon Leader, Regimental Weapons Troop Executive Officer, and Cavalry Troop Executive Officer. Following graduation from the Maneuver Captains Career Course, he returned to Fort Hood and served with 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division. After serving as the Brigade Maneuver Planner, MAJ Carrasco assumed command of C Troop, 1st SQDN, 7th Cavalry Regiment, Division Cavalry Squadron, 1st Cavalry Division.
After completing troop command, MAJ Carrasco reported to the Eisenhower Leader Development Program and attended Teachers College, Columbia University, where he earned a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology.
MAJ Carrasco’s military education includes the Armor Basic Officer Leader Course, Stryker Leader Course, Army Reconnaissance Course, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader Course, Maneuver Captains Career Course, and Cavalry Leaders Course. His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, NATO Medal, and Air Assault Badge. His deployments include Jalalabad, Afghanistan, from 2016 to 2017, and Northern Iraq, from 2018 to 2019.
MAJ Carrasco is married to Dr. Jennifer Dumaine-Carrasco, who serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Science and Engineering at West Point. Together, they have one daughter, Eliana.
