CPT Christian Sloan

CPT CJ Sloan is an instructor in the Department of History & War Studies at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY.

He grew up in northwestern New Jersey and graduated from West Point in 2017, commissioning into the Armor branch. He served as a platoon leader and executive officer with 2-14CAV, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. CJ later commanded B Troop, 3-73CAV, 82nd Airborne Division deploying to Poland in support of Operation Assure, Deter, and Reinforce. After command, CJ joined Operations Group at the Joint Readiness Training Center serving on the Cavalry Task Force OC Team.

CJ arrived at West Point in 2026 with a master's degree in history from the University of Notre Dame and is currently pursuing his Ph.D.. He specializes in the Seven Years' War, British Empire, and American Revolution.
