LTC Daniel Mahoney is an instructor and course director in the Department of Social Sciences and the Office of Economic & Manpower Analysis at the United States Military Academy (USMA)

He commissioned as a field artillery officer from USMA in 2006 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Mahoney has completed nine combat deployments and served in the 75th Ranger Regiment for five years. He has been an FA58 since 2020 and currently serves as the functional area’s proponent.

Mahoney enjoys writing fiction and rowing, both as a coach at USMA and an oarsman with a local master's program.
