Mr. David Van Slambrook

Mr. David E. Van Slambrook is a native of Detroit, Michigan. He is a distinguished military graduate of Michigan State University and received a commission in the U.S. Army Adjutant General Corps in 1986, branch-transferring to the Ordnance Corps in 1988. Mr. Van Slambrook has over 30 years of leadership and management experience across logistics, operations, and human resources fields; six years in the private sector as a human resources leader and 28 years as an Army Logistics officer.
During the course of his military career, Dave served in a wide variety of U.S. Army command and staff positions in the United States, Europe and Southwest Asia, retiring in July of 2014 at the rank of Colonel.
Mr. Van Slambrook most recently held positions as a human resources director and human resources manager at Starbucks Coffee Company, Seattle, Washington. During his military career, his tactical assignments included: 703rd Main Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division; 2nd Brigade and Division Support Command, 24th Infantry Division; 26th Forward Support Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division; 601st Aviation Support Battalion and HHC, Division Support Command, 1st Infantry Division; and 100th Brigade Support Battalion, 75th Fires Brigade.
He held multiple broadening assignments over the course of his career, including Installation Commander, Forward Operating Base Speicher, Iraq, Deputy Garrison Commander, U.S. Army Garrison - Franconia, and Inspector General and Assistant Chief of Staff, United States Pacific Command.
Mr. Van Slambrook holds a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-Law from Michigan State University and Master of Arts in Human Resources Development from Webster University.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal,Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
Mr. Van Slambrook and his spouse, the former Ms. Dawn Lightcap, have two daughters.
