LTC David Leydet is an assistant professor in the Department of Geography & Earth Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA)
He is a space operations officer (FA40) with a background as an armor and signal officer. His experience includes assignments in cavalry squadrons, brigade support battalions, and service as a junior rotating faculty member at USMA.
LTC Leydet deployed as a reconnaissance platoon leader with the 2nd Infantry Division to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His most recent operational assignment was as the battalion operations officer for the 1st Space Battalion at Fort Carson, Colorado.
Research interests include conflict, environmental security, human-environment geography, and machine learning.
