Dawes Strickler is an instructor in the Department of Physical Education (DPE) at the United States Military Academy.
He arrived in the Hudson Valley in 1990 to pursue full-time employment as a rock-climbing guide at the Shawangunk Mountains.
Mr. Strickler earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education and earth science in 2001 at the State University of New York-New Paltz. He taught ninth-grade earth science until 2004. He then began teaching in DPE. Mr. Strickler earned a master's degree in physical education and teaching from West Virginia University in 2007.
Married in 1997 to Margaret Mueller, they have a son, Logan and reside in Wallkill, New York.
