LTC Dusty Turner is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA). He also serves as the department's associate director for the Applied Statistics & Data Science program.

He graduated with the USMA Class of 2007 and began his Army career as an engineer officer and later as an operations research systems analyst before joining the USMA faculty as an academy professor. 

LTC Turner has led soldiers in both Iraq and Afghanistan and now draws on that operational experience to develop cadets’ skills in leadership, ethics, and analytical thinking. Co-author of the ggvfields R package, he is committed to advancing data-driven decision-making within the Army. 

He and his wife, Jill, live at West Point with their son and daughter.
