Dr. Eileen Kowalski is an associate professor who teaches chemistry in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy (USMA), where she serves as a departmental academic counselor. She currently serves as the department reviewer of curriculum proposals and a member of the Faculty Development Committee. She joined the USMA faculty 2001.
In 2024, she received the Dean’s Career Award for Distinguished Teaching Excellence. Dr. Kowalski is a former head department academic counselor (2009-18, 2021-22) and member of the USMA Steering Committee (2013–-22). She has previously served on the Continuing Intellectual Development Goal Team (2008-09; chair 2010-13), the Assessment Steering Committee (2010-3), and the Corbin Forum mentoring circles (2012-15).
She was an officer representative with the Army cross country and track and field teams (2002-21) and now serves as the officer in charge of the choir at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Chapel.
Since 2016, she has supported the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) Project with strategic planning and resource development, including curating submissions to the POGIL Activity Clearinghouse. Dr. Kowalski is a faculty member of the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Chemistry Honor Society.
She previously worked for The Upjohn Company and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.
