Dr. Enoch Nagelli is an associate professor and the director of chemical engineering in the Department of Chemical & Biological Science & Engineering at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York. He teaches General Chemistry I and II, and core chemical engineering courses. He is also the principal investigator of an interdisciplinary research group of cadets majoring in chemical engineering, life science, and chemistry.

He earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2014, advised by Prof. Liming Dai. His dissertation focused on the controlled synthesis, functionalization, and assembly of carbon nanomaterials for novel energy storage and conversion devices through an Air Force Research Laboratory fellowship at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Nagelli worked as a postdoctoral fellow on an ARPA-E project funded by the Department of Energy on large-scale, high-energy-capacity, all-iron flow batteries at Case Western Reserve University in the Electrochemical Engineering and Energy Lab under the mentorship of Prof. Robert Savinell and Prof. Jesse Wainright. In this role, he worked on the performance diagnostics of flowable slurry electrodes for redox flow batteries and electrochemical flow capacitors.

Dr. Nagelli is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and an officer in the Environment Division of AIChE. He is also a member of the American Chemical Society and the Electrochemical Society.

He currently serves as a member of the ABET Accreditation Board for the chemical engineering program and as assistant officer-in-charge for the AIChE club. Dr. Nagelli also serves as the department's trusted agent for course-end feedback and as a member of the department faculty selection committee.

He mentors chemical engineering cadets as a department academic counselor and serves as an assistant officer representative for the USMA men’s basketball team.
