MAJ Erin Mauldin is an instructor in the International History Division of the Department of History & War Studies at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
She graduated from USMA in 2014 and attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She received a master's degree in economic and social history with a focus on 19th century Afghanistan.
In 2016, she transferred to the infantry and served in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina (known as Fort Liberty since 2023). There, she served as a rifle platoon leader, executive officer and battalion assistant S3, and deployed to Afghanistan in 2019 in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
MAJ Mauldin's next operational post was Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where she served as a brigade planner, company commander and aide-de-camp to the commander of the 101st Airborne Division. She supported Operation Allies Welcome in 2021 to help with the reception of Afghan evacuees and deployed to southeastern Europe for Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce from 2022-23.
She enjoys rock climbing, mountaineering and functional fitness.
