MAJ Jake Lueders is a senior instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and an analyst for the Operations Research Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University and a Master of Science in engineering and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Washington.

Commissioned as an Engineer officer in 2012, MAJ Lueders served as a platoon leader and company executive officer with Alpha Company, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, which later reflagged to the 52nd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, under the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. He completed a deployment to Afghanistan before serving as a project engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, in Seattle, Washington.

After completing the Engineer Captains Career Course, MAJ Lueders served as an assistant operations officer with the 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and later commanded Bravo Company, 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power), at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

He and his wife, Maria, have a son and a daughter.
