COL James E. Richards

COL James (Jed) Richards is an assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA), where he serves as an Individual Mobilization Augmentee reservist.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from USMA and a Master of Science in system design and management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research interests include modeling and simulation of autonomous military systems and applications of digital engineering for defense acquisition. 

In his civilian capacity, COL Richards is an operations research analyst at the Institute for Systems Engineering Research at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center.

He and wife Cy have three children: Josh, Coby and Mitch.
