MAJ Jason Pearson is a battalion tactical officer with the Battalion Tactical Department at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS) in West Point, New York. He is a Wichita, Kansas, native.

He enlisted in the Army in 2002 as an 11B infantryman and was deployed with the 10th Mountain Division to Afghanistan from 2003-04 and Iraq from 2005-06. He also deployed with the First Army to Afghanistan from 2010-11.

During his enlisted time, MAJ Pearson served as a radio telephone operator, M249 SAW gunner, team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant, observer/controller trainer, and rear detachment NCOIC. In 2011, he was accepted into the Army’s Green to Gold Active-Duty Option program with an assignment at Texas A&M–Central Texas.

In 2013, MAJ Pearson was commissioned as a second lieutenant in logistics. Upon completing the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader Course in 2013, he was assigned to the 16th Combat Aviation Brigade at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. He served as a platoon leader and deployed with the 16th CAB to Afghanistan in 2014. Upon return, he served as a battalion assistant S-3, company executive officer, and support operations transportation officer in charge.

In 2017, he attended the Logistics Captains Career Course at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, and was assigned to the 16th Sustainment Brigade in Baumholder, Germany. MAJ Pearson served as a support operations current operations officer in charge, company commander of the 51st Composite Truck Company (Heavy), and brigade assistant S-3.

In 2020, MAJ Pearson was selected to attend the Eisenhower Leader Development Program at West Point, earning a master’s degree in organizational psychology and leadership from Columbia University. While assigned to the United States Military Academy, he served three years as a company tactical officer before assignment to USMAPS as a company tactical officer.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Outstanding Volunteer Service Ribbon, NATO ISAF Ribbon, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.
