LTC (Ret.) Jerry Hart is originally from Westwood, Massachusetts. He was a Junior Olympic and Golden Gloves boxer prior to attending the United States Military Academy.

Coach Hart graduated from West Point in 1993 and was commissioned in the Transportation Corps. He received his Master of Education degree in physical education from the University of Georgia in 2002. From 2002 to 2005, he taught boxing, combatives and women’s self-defense in the Department of Physical Education at West Point. In addition, Coach Hart coached the Army club boxing team.

He continued serving in a variety of leadership positions in the Army, including several deployments, prior to retiring in 2015. Coach Hart has been back in the Department of Physical Education at West Point and coaching the boxing team since May 2020. He was appointed as course director for PE116, Boxing, in August 2023.

He is married and has four adult children.
