CPT Joanlyn Zoe Quiñones has several duties in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy. They include DPE instructor and admissions officer; boxing and Army fitness development; 3rd regimental guidance officer; web content manager; and knowledge management officer.
She hails from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, and attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus ROTC program, where she commissioned as a signal officer in 2015, after earning her first master’s degree in physical education curriculum development. After completing the Signal Basic Officer Leader Course, she served as command post node platoon leader, main command post node and executive officer in the 73rd Signal Company and the 25th Signal Intelligence Sustainment Company in Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. While serving as the main command post node platoon leader, she deployed to Korea, serving a secondary duty as the 25th Infantry Division unit movement officer.
After the Signal Captains Career Course and Airborne School, CPT Quiñones served as the battalion S-6 for the 1st Psychological Operations Battalion at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In her following assignment, she became the G-3 planner and later the knowledge management director for the 335th Signal Theater Command in Atlanta, Georgia.
Before joining the West Point faculty, CPT Quiñones studied kinesiology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning a second Master of Science in 2024.
