Dr. Joel Jebb, Ph.D. Department Head USMAPS Department of English joel.jebb [at] westpoint.edu About Education Dr. Joel Jebb is head of the United States Military Academy Preparatory School's (USMAPS) Department of English in West Point, New York. He has taught in USMAPS English since 2010 and has been the department head since 2014. He was born in Miami, Florida, and later moved to Sarasota, Florida. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) in 1982 as an armor officer and spent the second half of his Army career teaching in USMA's Department of English & World Languages.Dr. Jebb has a master's degree from Duke University in philosophy and a Ph.D from Columbia University in English education. His wife, Cindy, is a West Point classmate, and they have three adult children: Ben, Alex, and Olivia.
