MAJ John Korban is an instructor in the Department of English & World Languages at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
He graduated from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas, with a bachelor's degree in physics and commissioned in 2012 as a second lieutenant in the Infantry branch. His first assignment was with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, which included a training exercise in Latvia supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve and a deployment to Egypt supporting the Multinational Force and Observers mission. He later transitioned to the Civil Affairs branch and served as a team commander in the Arabian Peninsula.
MAJ Korban holds a master’s degree in Arab studies from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
