MAJ John Korban, a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio with a Bachelor of Science in physics, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Infantry branch in May 2012. His first assignment was with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany, which included a training exercise in Latvia supporting Operation Atlantic Resolve and a deployment to Egypt supporting the Multinational Force and Observers mission. He later transitioned to the Civil Affairs branch and served as a team commander in the Arabian Peninsula.
MAJ Korban holds a master’s degree from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Arab studies (2024).
