Dr. John Borman, Ed.D.

Dr. John Borman is director of facilities and an assistant professor for the Department of Physical Education (DPE) at the United States Military Academy.
He entered the Army upon graduation from Milton High School, Milton, Wisconsin, in 1998. Before assuming duties as the facilities director for DPE, Dr. Borman retired from the Army after nearly 24 years of service while serving as the department’s executive officer.
As an armor crewman, he served in a variety of positions in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Cavazos, Texas. He transferred from enlisted to commissioned officer via the Green to Gold active-duty option while earning his degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2008. He commissioned as a finance officer and served in the 4th Special Troops Battalion, the 1st Cavalry Division, the U.S. Army Financial Management School, and USMA. Dr. Borman’s operational deployments include Bosnia, Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
His awards include the Bronze Star Medal (with V Device), Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal. He has also earned the Combat Action Badge.
Dr. Borman has been happily married to his wife Margaret since 2001. Team Borman is the proud parents of two children, Chasen and Avery.
