Dr. John W. Steinberg, Ph.D.

Dr. John Steinberg grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. After completing his education, he became a history professor at Georgia Southern University and later was employed at Austin Peay State University. His area of research has focused on the education and training of Russian military elites and has resulted in the publication of a monograph entitled “All the Tsar’s Men: Russia’s General Staff and the Fate of the Empire, 1898-1914” and a text entitled “A Military History of the Russian Empire from Peter the Great until Nicholas II.”

In addition, he has been a co-series editor of two international research projects that aimed to publish works by international scholars. The first published two volumes and was entitled “The Russo-Japanese War in Global Perspective: World War Zero.” The second published 22 books and was entitled “Russia’s Great War & Revolution, 1914-1921.”
