CPT(P) Jordan Wood is an instructor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences & Leadership at the United States Military Academy (USMA) in West Point, New York.
The Nederland, Colorado, native graduated from USMA in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in economics and commissioned as a field artillery officer.
After completing the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course, Wood was assigned to the 3rd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado. He served as a company fire support officer, fire direction officer, and platoon leader. During his three years at Fort Carson, he completed two rotational deployments to northern Europe as well as Kuwait and Jordan.
Wood graduated from the Field Artillery Captains Career Course in September, 2020. He was then assigned to the 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, at Fort Bliss, Texas, where he served as a battalion fire support officer and battalion fire direction officer before assuming battery command with 4-27 FA. Upon completion of command in 4-27 FA, Wood took command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery for the 1st Armored Division Artillery.
Following command, Wood earned an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, graduating as a Tuck Scholar.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with three oak lead clusters, Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal with bronze service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon.
Wood is married to his wife, Caroline. Together they have three children.
