MAJ Joshua Allyn Instructor Social Sciences joshua.allyn [at] westpoint.edu About Education MAJ Joshua Allyn is an instructor of economics in the Department of Social Sciences at the United States Military Academy (USMA). His research interests include security cooperation evaluation and analyzing the cost-effectiveness of defense spending.Allyn commissioned as an infantry officer from USMA in 2016 and has served in tactical leadership positions in the 82nd Airborne Division, 1st Ranger Battalion, and 173rd Airborne Brigade. He has deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, and Poland in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.Allyn holds a master's degree in public policy from Harvard University and bachelor's degree in economics from USMA.He and his wife, Jamie, have two children.
