Joshua Lehman is an assistant professor in the Department of Law & Philosophy at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point. He served a career in U.S. Army Special Forces before completing graduate studies at Boston College and joining West Point's philosophy faculty in 2021.

His research brings classical ethics and the philosophy of war into dialogue. Drawing on the Thomistic tradition and the Catholic phenomenological movement — principally Augustine, Aquinas, Dietrich von Hildebrand, and Karol Wojtyła — he addresses questions of war, peace, and the moral and existential experience of the soldier. His current book project develops a Thomistic personalist account of soldiers and war, supplementing classical just war theory with a phenomenological examination of the soldier's interior moral life.
