COL Julia A. Wilson

COL Julia Wilson is an assistant professor and deputy director in the Department of Physical Education at the United States Military Academy (USMA).
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 1998 and commissioned into the Finance Branch. COL Wilson served in various locations and duty positions in the United States and overseas. Assignments include the 125th Infantry Division, 18th Airborne Corps, USMA, U.S. Army Special Operations Command, the 10th Mountain Division, and the 1st Infantry Division. She has served and supported various units as a battalion S-1, disbursing officer, budget analyst, instructor, and commander.
COL Wilson has commanded on four occasions with B/125th Detachment, HHQ/18th SSG (ABN), 33rd FMSU/10th SBDE, and 1st Special Troops Battalion/1st SBDE. Deployments include Thailand, Iraq, and Afghanistan. She is a graduate of the Finance Officer Basic Course, Finance Captain’s Career Course, Combined Arms Staff Service School, Intermediate Level Education, Air Assault School, Airborne School, and Combatives Level I and Level II courses.
Military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (1 BSS), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Joint Military Unit Award, Army Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon, North Atlantic Treaty Organization (1 CSS), Air Assault Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
COL Wilson holds a master’s degree in health education from the University of Florida and a doctorate in health behavior from the University of Florida.
She is the proud mother of a daughter and two sons, as well as a proud grandmother of four grandchildren.
