CPT Kathryn Dula is an instructor in the Department of Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy. She joined the faculty in July 2025, teaching statistics and introductory programming courses. 

She commissioned in 2018 as a quartermaster officer and is now an operations research/system analysis (ORSA) officer. 

CPT Dula was first assigned as a distribution platoon leader at Fort Carson, Colorado. She was then selected as part of the first cohort of Artificial Intelligence Scholars and began her graduate education as a first lieutenant after completing company executive officer time. She served her utilization tour with Future Command's Artificial Intelligence Integration Center (AI2C). She helped modernize the data infrastructure for U.S. Recruiting Command (USAREC) and the Army Human Resources Command.

While working at AI2C, she applied to become an ORSA and was accepted. CPT Dula then worked in the USAREC Innovation Cell, where she evaluated experiments run by industry partners to help Army leaders understand if they were effective and worth pursuing to improve the Army recruiting enterprise. 

CPT Dula and her husband, CPT Kyle Dotterrer, have a son, Allister, and a cat, Stella.
