Kim Lee is the administrative officer and executive officer in the Department of Physics & Nuclear Engineering at the United States Military Academy. She joined the department in 2004 as the office automation assistant and was promoted to her current position in 2010.
Mrs. Lee supports the department head, deputy head and program directors, coordinating actions with external organizations and managing procedures, funds, personnel and other resources. She plans, directs and coordinates personnel functions for staff and faculty, and manages the operating budget, including appropriated and nonappropriated funds. She also directs department-level operations for the head of department, including agenda planning, duty rosters, physical and information security, and safety programs. Additionally, she supervises two permanently assigned civilian employees.
She has been a volunteer firefighter since 1991 with departments in Highland Falls and Cornwall, New York, and previously served as president of the Highland Falls Fire Department. She is vice president for the Orange County Volunteer Firemen’s Association. She is also a member of the West Point-Highland Falls Rotary Club, where she served as president for one year and is a member of the board of directors.
Mrs. Lee and her husband, Mickey, were married in 1993 and have two sons, Billy and Justin (wife, Samantha), and a bonus daughter, Rachel. Her pride and joy are her grandchildren, Evelyn, Ava, Jacob and Carson, and her golden retrievers, Remi and Jet.
