Mrs. Kristan Burpo

Kristan Burpo is the assistant dean for Programs and Resources at the United States Military Academy (USMA) with nearly 30 years of finance, logistics, and operations experience.
She served as an Army Ordnance Corps officer in the 1st Cavalry Division after receiving a ROTC commission from Ohio State University with a B.A. in international relations. During her military service, she deployed multiple times, including four rotations at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, and an operational deployment to Kuwait for Operation Intrinsic Action.
After her military service, she earned an MBA and gained five years of corporate experience with Ashland Distribution, planning and conducting ISO 9002 quality control and process audit readiness training for 400 employees across 65 facilities throughout the country, utilizing financial data to improve overall financial efficiency through standardized processes.
At USMA, Mrs. Burpo has served as the memorial support coordinator at the West Point Association of Graduates, deputy G4 logistics, and most recently as a financial management specialist in the G8, managing audit readiness for the academy. She has received Level II Financial Management certification, the Army Civilian Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (3), the Army Achievement medal, and is airborne qualified.
She and husband John have two sons, Ian and Nathan.
